Mr. Mohammed Azab, EVP
Mohammed Azab is the Head of Private Banking at Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank. He joined ADIB in 2012.
Mohammed operates from ADIB’s Head Office in Abu Dhabi where he manages the private banking business in the UAE and GCC region. He develops and oversees the private banking relationships with high and UHNW individuals and families. He manages teams of bankers, investments specialists, and credit and general banking officers, all within the ADIB private banking platform.
Mohammed was instrumental in the development of the Private Banking group’s new strategy, which today has diversified the sources of revenue for the business to include financing assets as well as liabilities, deposits, and AUMs. The strategy has built ADIB’s onshore private banking AUMs into a multi-billion dirham book since it commenced in 2013.
Before joining ADIB in 2012, Mohammed headed the Dubai office of Citi Private Bank and was responsible for the onshore activities of CPB in the region. Before that and until 2007, he was UAE Country Manager for Arab Bank plc. He has also held various senior positions at Bank of Bahrain & Kuwait (BBK) – in Bahrain and Dubai. He started his banking career in the early 1980’s, with Citibank in Dubai as a Corporate Credit & Marketing Officer.
Mohammed holds an MBA degree from the Thunderbird School of Global Management in Arizona, and obtained his undergraduate degree in business from the University of Jordan.
